Samuel Star is the Founder and Director of Archi-QS, bringing more than three decades of industry experience in quantity surveying, strata building bond inspector, regulated design practitioner, Tax depreciation, project advisory and risk management. Throughout his career, he has built a strong reputation for guiding complex and high-risk developments to successful completion, particularly in distressed and financially sensitive environments. His strategic oversight and disciplined approach to governance have made Archi-QS a reliable advisor to lenders and project stakeholders alike.

A fellow of Australian institute of Quantity Surveyors (FAIQS) and a Certified Quantity Surveyor (CQS), Member of the AIQS Strata Building Bond Inspection Panel SBBIS, Certified ATO Tax depreciation Specialist, member of the AIQS College of expert witness panel, and a Member of the Dept of Fair-Trading regulated design practitioner. Samuel offers comprehensive expertise across the full spectrum of the built environment services. His experience spans varied project types, scales and procurement models, enabling him to adapt to diverse client and funding requirements. He is a trusted representative on lender panels for major and regional financial institutions where he ensures compliance with banking standards, credit risk protocols and structured reporting frameworks.

With a thorough understanding of the building life cycle and a strong focus on accountability and quality assurance, Samuel provides clear, decisive leadership from project feasibility through to completion. As Director at Archi-QS, Sarah leads our team with unparalleled expertise, distinguishing us as the only quantity surveying firm with architects on the management board. Sarah’s multifaceted role spans architectural insight, quantity surveying expertise, policy acumen, and leadership.

With a robust background as a Registered NSW Architect and Design Practitioner, combined with 16 years of experience in quantity surveying, Sarah ensures that each project benefits from a holistic approach, blending architectural precision, cost expertise, and strategic guidance informed by policy insight. This unique combination enables us to set new standards of excellence and deliver unparalleled value to our clients.

As a Certified Strata Building Bond Inspector and Building Consultant, she is qualified to act as a building inspector and assist in all stages of the Strata Building Bond and Inspections Scheme. She also leads as a strata services specialist, overseeing projects and providing guidance to the team.

Sarah is also a thought leader in the industry, actively contributing to relevant publications and hosting seminars to share valuable insights with clients and industry peers. She was recently named the winner of the UDIA NSW Women in Leadership Award 2026, recognised for her outstanding contribution to the urban development industry.
